Birds About
Oct 2009 - New Hampshire

We took a weekend up to New Hampshire and Maine to see the fall foliage. We actually timed the trip very well, it was about as close to peak as you can get. We went to Mt. Washington and to the Old Man in the Mountain, which is on the New Hampshire state quarter. Unfortunately, a few years ago it completely collapsed in a storm and there's absolutely nothing left.

Halfway up, they wouldn't let us go up any higher because of heavy snow and ice further up (in early Oct!)

It was freezing cold, because it was so windy!
