Birds About
March 2018 - Newport Beach, California

We went down to Newport Beach in order to sail out to Catalina Island, and stopped by a few other sites while we were there. We went to the Upper Newport Bay reserve to see birds (which we did), and then stopped by Mission San Juan Bautista, one of the original California missions. Historically there has been a big migration of swallows to the mission starting that very weekend we were there, however there were no swallows there. Sad day.
