Mar 2008 - Galați

I spent six months in Galați. Not much of a tourist destination, but it's got one of the largest steel mills in eastern Europe, and a few Roman fortresses nearby. These are some pictures around the city.

An aerial view of Galaţi. On the right is the Danube
The oldest building in Galaţi. A church, of course

Another church around the corner from where I lived. What's up with the steeple?..

Inside that church

An old synagoge
A sea of blocks. Most of Galaţi looks like this, with the steel mill ever present in the back
