December 2017 - Barrow
We spent two days at the northernmost point of the United States the week before the winter solstice. This meant 48 hours with no sunrise. There was a brief twilight in the middle of the day - just enough to see the horizon, but nothing close to day. We enjoyed the dark and saw the Arctic ocean.
